Hi, I'm Nely Cab. I like to daydream. Sometimes those dreams turn into books. I grew up in south Texas where palm trees thrive all year long, and the weather is too hot for my liking. The rural town I lived in from the age of thirteen has a population of 8000. This town became the setting for The Creatura Series because it's the place where I have fond memories of being a teenager. Just to give you an idea of how small it is, my graduating high school class was made up of roughly 300 students.
BUT I HAVEN'T ALWAYS lived in Texas. After I got married, I moved to Mexico where I studied culinary arts and oil painting. If you follow me on Instagram, you'll see that I sometimes post pictures of my creations. The weather in Monterrey is a lot like the weather in south Texas⎯where I currently reside. The city of Monterrey, however, is a huge metropolis surrounded by mountains. I get lost even when I use a navigation system, so in a city that large, I never knew where I was.
FIVE YEARS AND A KID LATER, I returned to the U.S. Two years after, my journey to becoming a writer began. I had no idea what was in store for me, but oh, what a wonderful journey it's been!
